Galerie 422 Margund Lössl offers insights into the oeuvre of Michael Kienzer and Otto Zitko, who have been shaping contemporary Austrian art since the late 1980s. Michael Kienzer and Otto Zitko explore the boundaries of their respective artistic media and explore new ways of expression. The eponymous work Balance, which will be on display at the exhibition, demonstrates this stringent artistic approach, in which the boundaries between the individual disciplines become blurred and new hybrid forms emerge.
Otto Zitko has developed drawing away from the confines of the page and towards space, as his numerous wall works in Germany and abroad show. His artistic style varies between thin lines and abstract surfaces. Michael Kienzer takes an experimental approach, using a variety of industrial and everyday materials and techniques to give his geometric, minimalist sculptures and installations a unique visual and tactile quality. Through the use of repetitive patterns and dynamic structures, he evokes spatial sensory stimuli that challenge the viewer's perception.
